System Overview

The Motor Drive & Power System delivers high‑efficiency, variable‑speed operation and intelligent power management for the H.E.R.P.S primary pump motor. Integrating the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), protection systems, communication architecture and hybrid energy management, this subsystem ensures reliable, efficient and continuous operation under all load conditions.

VFD Cabinet Layout

Power Flow Architecture

Power flows from the grid or battery system through the input filter, breaker, AFE rectifier, DC link, inverter, brake chopper, output filter and finally to the PMSM motor. Regenerative energy is routed back to the hybrid power conversion and battery system.
